A Typical Worship Service

Services begin at 10 am on Sunday mornings with the chiming of bell as a Call to Worship. We then light a Chalice, the symbol of our Unitarian Universalist faith. The light of the chalice symbolizes the divine spark that shines within and outside of each of us. Our children and youth join us for the beginning of every service, where we engage them with a “Message for all Ages.” The youth are then sung out to their classrooms where they participate in Religious Education.

Candles of Joy and Concern

Candles of Joy and Concern are a living tradition in many UU congregations. It is a time we set aside for sharing important joys or concerns in our lives. Congregants and visitors are welcome to light candles for private concerns, which are provided at the side of the sanctuary.

After prayers, a sermon, singing hymns, and musical reflection, our service comes to a close. We conclude our time together by standing and singing together: “Carry the Flame of Peace and Love, Until We Meet Again.”

After Services

We socialize after services in the foyer at coffee hour. All attendees are welcome to sit down, share food and drink, and connect with others.

Childcare and Religious Education

Children from infancy to three years are cared for in our Tender Loving Care room in the Religious Education wing. Trustworthy, CORI-checked adults and older adolescents cuddle and play with our youngest members.

During most services, Religious Education classes for children grades pre-K through high school are held.

First-Time Visitors

If you are visiting for the first time, we invite you to arrive 20 minutes early so we can provide you with a name tag and a warm welcome!  If you have children or youth with you, they are welcome to attend Religious Education. We’re happy to give them a tour of the RE Wing before service.
