Sunday, March 3: RE Classes

Children will join their teachers in their classes following the “Time for All Ages” portion of the worship service today. Children 3.5 and younger may begin in the Nest Nursery, which is open from 9:30-11:30.

Ages 6-9: “First do no harm.” We will be exploring the Buddhist concept of ahimsa today.

Ages 10-13: We all come into the world with gifts – and gifts are most fun when they are shared. Today we will be exploring the difference between gifts and skills and how we can use both to make the world a better place.

The Children’s Choir will be rehearsing after worship today to prepare for singing in the service on March 24. Come join us!

Ages 6-9: What we do matters in the world, even when we are young. How do you make a difference?

Ages 10-13: We are all born into different social classes.  UUs don’t believe that this matters – we should treat everyone with respect.  It can be confusing when other people discriminate on the basis of social class.  We will be looking at this complicated topic today.

Ages 6-9: “with liberty and justice for all,” says our pledge of allegiance. What does “justice for all” look like?

Ages 10-13: Images of injustice – what do you see around you that is unjust? How can we flip the story?

Sunday, April 7: RE Classes

Children will join their teachers in their classes following the “Time for All Ages” portion of the worship service today. Children 3.5 and younger may begin in the Nest Nursery, which is open from 9:30-11:30.

Ages 6-9: Courage – it doesn’t mean not feeling afraid, it means feeling afraid and doing the right thing anyway! So how can we do that?

Ages 10-13: Work is love made visible.” All work has value. What work goes into your daily life? Who are the workers who support you – and how do you support them? What is your work to do in the world.

Children will join their teachers in their classes following the “Time for All Ages” portion of the worship service today. Children 3.5 and younger may begin in the Nest Nursery, which is open from 9:30-11:30.

Our annual “Kids at the Cafe” congregational service project is this neek and next week. We’ll be hosting the Fellowship Cafe next week, so this week we will be making plans. What treats should we contribute? What needs to be done? We all enjoy the treats on Sunday mornings, but they don’t just apprear out of nowhere! This two week session is a special time to do something nice for our community.

Kids at the Cafe week is here! We’ll be hosting the Fellowship Cafe today – making some treats, helping to set up, serve, and clean up afterwards. It is always fun to host a party – and every Sunday at FUSF is like a little party.

Sunday, April 28: Class for All Ages

Summer is coming! Today we will be learning some Maypole dances to celebrate Beltane, which marks the beginning of Summer. We will hopefully be outside today!

Sunday, May 5: RE Classes

Children will join their teachers in their classes following the “Time for All Ages” portion of the worship service today. Children 3.5 and younger may begin in the Nest Nursery, which is open from 9:30-11:30.

Ages 6-9: Perserverance: Working hard when the going gets rough is…well, rough! But success comes to those who keep going even in the face of discouragement. We will be learning some stories that illustrate this principle.

Ages 10-13: Prayer is a place to grow a soul. What is prayer? Is it talking? Is it listening? What are they ways that UUs pray?

Sunday, May 12: RE Classes

Children will join their teachers in their classes following the “Time for All Ages” portion of the worship service today. Children 3.5 and younger may begin in the Nest Nursery, which is open from 9:30-11:30.

Ages 6-9: Cooperation: We can achieve so much more when we work in partnership with others. That can be challenging as well as rewarding!

Ages 10-13: Choosing to be a UU. This faith isn’t something that is imposed, but something that you choose. What does it mean to walk this spiritual path?

Sunday, May 19 Ferry Beach Weekend!

This weekend is our annual all church retreat to Ferry Beach in Saco, Maine. Sign up to join us for a weekend of fun and fellowship! There will be special activities for the children – nature walks, games, and craft activities.

The Meetinghouse will be open for a lay-led service, and childcare will be available.

Sunday, May 26: RE Classes

Children will join their teachers in their classes following the “Time for All Ages” portion of the worship service today. Children 3.5 and younger may begin in the Nest Nursery, which is open from 9:30-11:30.

Ages 6-9: This year we have been looking at different qualities that can help us on our journey through life. We will be reviewing these “compass points” today.

Ages 10-13: This class will also be reviewing the work of this year and making plans for creating our final art projects.
