Engaging Forgiveness

As Unitarianism Universalists many of us reject the traditional theology of atonement. That is we do not look at Jesus’ death as an event that will save us. Most of us do not believe he died for our sins. Yet as human beings, we do need a method to forgive and reconcile with each other.  Based on the premise that forgiveness as well as a desire for revenge is deeply programmed into human nature we will explore a humanistic framework for engaging forgiveness.
