FUSF first obtained Welcoming Congregation Team status from the Unitarian Universalist Association in 1993. Each year our team makes sure our congregation meets the UUA Welcoming Congregation requirements and creates a safe and loving space for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, asexual, plus other. These requirements include: annual recognition and celebration of the Welcoming Days of Observance, incorporating two Welcoming worship services into our calendar of worship every year, generously donating finances or time to a local or national organization or campaign that uplifts the dignity of LGBTQ+ and TGQNB people, and sponsoring or hosting an annual educational opportunity for our congregation and community. On this same wall, you can find many brochures explaining Unitarian Universalism as well as our name-tag cabinet. Turn back now and head into the hallway.
