On Sunday May 24th join FUSF members Emily Steltzer and Peter Dennis, who will lead a service entitled The Power of Memory. The service is inspired by Memorial Day, which was founded after the Civil War to memorialize soldiers who lost their lives in that war. It was originally called Decoration Day because people decorated soldiers’ graves with flags and flowers. In the spirit of memory, instead of flags and flowers, we invite you to bring in a photo or an image that holds a meaningful memory for you. As part of the memory-inspired service we will create a space for those memories to be shared with one another and to “decorate” a shared space in FUSF with our collective memories.
