Audio Tour Stop 7 – History Wall

Tap the play button to listen to the narration.

As you near the History Wall, take time to admire the beautiful stained glass window, saved in its entirety from Grace Chapel, one of our earlier buildings. FUSF has a deep and important history in the town of Franklin. On this wall hangs a portrait of Oliver Dean, our earliest benefactor. Dean donated the land for the newly-formed Universalist Society in Franklin and for Dean Academy, a Universalist prep school, now known as Dean College. There is also a portrait of Minister Emeritus, Dr. Trueman Menadue, who served our congregation for 22 years, from 1938-1959. As well, you can enjoy historic photos of our buildings and more current photos highlighting our community and our growth and expansion into this new building under the leadership of Minister Emeritus, Rev. Carol Rosine, who served our community for 29 years until 2016. Continue through the double doors and back into the foyer towards the kitchen pass-through window.
