The Nominating Committee has started the work of identifying candidates to fill positions on the Board of Trustees and the Nominating Committee.   Potential candidates are identified through recommendations by the Board, minister and staff, self-nominations and congregational referrals.  Once the Nominating Committee has a good list of potential candidates, interviews are conducted to evaluate the knowledge, skills, and best fit for a given position. Our main goal is to ensure that church members who express an interest in board membership:

  • fully understand the demands of Board participation,
  • bring skills that fit with the current needs of our church, and
  • are most likely to have a productive and enriching term.

Prior to meeting with the candidates, the Nominating Committee meets with the Board and minister to determine strategic direction, goals and skills desired for incoming Board members.

Once the selection is completed, the Committee prepares a slate of candidates that is submitted to the congregation and voted on at the annual meeting in the spring of each year.

If you are interested in exploring a position on the Board or Nominating Committee – please talk to any of the Nominating Committee members, Laura Cerier, Joyce Adams, Helen Kinney, or Ann Parsley.
