LiveARTS brings outstanding classical musicians from around New England to perform at our Franklin Universalist Society meetinghouse, to the delight of our congregation and visitors.
A nonprofit performing arts organization in Franklin, LiveARTS was formed to enrich the cultural life of the MetroSouthwest region of Boston. Visitors just love hearing quality chamber music in this intimate setting. For the 2014-2015 season, they list four diverse and exciting classical music performances!
Upcoming 2015 schedule :
Sun, Jan. 25, 2015:
Kevin Owen, French Horn, (pictured above) with his pianist wife Asako Shibata
A first at LiveARTS: the featured solo instrument is the French horn! Liberated from the orchestral brass section, virtuoso French hornist, Kevin Owen, with his pianist wife, Asako Shibata, “cuts loose” in an awe-inspiring demonstration of what the French horn is all about.
Often regarded as the most difficult of the instruments in the orchestra, the French horn and its lovely tonality will be demonstrated by Owen in performance and in informative remarks that will be not only illustrative but fascinating. Owen is widely recognized as one of the the finest horn players today, and his participation in an exceptionally wide variety of ensembles throughout his career is nothing short of astounding.
Sun, April 12, 2015:
LiveARTS String Quartet: Irina Muresanu, violin; Gregory Vitale, violin; Donald Krishnaswami, viola; Jan-Muller-Szeraws, cello.
Our season’s climax and finale is presented by our own string quartet. Immensely talented, they provide LiveARTS with exquisite performances that have approached the pinnacle of chamber artistry.
