The Religious Education Curricula for the 2016-17 Year Are Below:

“TLC Nursery” for Our Youngest Ones

For babies and toddlers under three, we offer childcare in our nursery by paid, qualified staff and trusted volunteers. This is a first step toward our children feeling at home here. Our staff are CORI checked.

Chalice Children for PreK

At ages three and four, children begin to notice that the world can be a sad or scary place sometimes and seek the assurance that they are surrounded by love and beauty.

Through play, stories, crafts, songs, and movement games, children engage with the themes and values of our UU faith, such as helping others, family celebrations, and the beauty of nature.
[Teachers Fall/Spring: Sue Savoy (F), Stephen Dennis (F), Donna Morin (S), Kate Day (F/S), Ursula Roxin-Dixon (S)]

Creating Home and World of Wonder for Grades K–2

Creating Home helps children develop a sense of home that is grounded in faith. Children explore questions about the purpose of having a home and the functions a home serves, for us as humans and for other animals.

World of Wonder instills respect for the “interdependent web of all existence of which we are all a part,” and appreciation of its beauty, excitement, and mystery. It is founded on the premise that direct experience in nature is essential to children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development.
[Teachers: Julie Bastuk, Claire Mallette, Lori-Ann Zajac;
Julie Weismoore and (TBD)]

Harry and UU for Grades 3–6children work together on special projects

From the exciting Imagine RE curricula, this class uses the immensely popular Harry Potter series as a model for how kids can use their powers to change their world for the better. Students will engage in fun wizarding activities while tackling real-world problems through social action projects.
[Teachers (Fall/Spring): Shannon Nisbett (F/S), Courtenay Schwartz (F/S), Cheryl Magadieu (F), Lori-Ann Zajac (S)]
