What a wonderful month we had in the RE wing! We’ve welcomed lots of new faces as we completed the halfway point in our Fall term. From nursery through senior high, our young people have been having a great time together, playing, creating, debating and bonding. It’s been fun to drop into these classes and see so many smiling faces, and witness all the different modes of learning; drama, story baskets, singing, drawing, brain-challenging questions; there is something for everyone in our program. Thanks so much our volunteers for all their preparation and dedication.
We are still in search of a second lead childcare person. If you know of a caring and responsible sitter, teacher, grandparent, etc who might be interested in some extra income, please refer them!
Perhaps you are thinking about teaching in the spring but haven’t committed yet. With five classes left before winter break, now is an excellent time to get involved. Sign up to help in one of the classrooms! We can use the extra hands, and you’ll get a sense of what the classes are like. We need every parent to pitch in where they can, but you need not be parent to volunteer.
Coming up in November:
Most of our classes will meet every week this month, except for 11/22 which will be our annual Thanksgiving service for the whole family. Be sure to check your weekly email announcements for class details.
And in December, all children and youth will be invited to participate in our first everCharlie Brown Christmas Pageant! Based on the beloved holiday TV special, we will search for the meaning of Christmas amid the pressures of commercialism with comedy, carols, scripture, the return of the ever-popular UU Angels, and of course, the Snoopy dance.
The pageant service will be Sunday, December 20th, with rehearsal on the 13th during RE time and following worship. If you would like to be involved please contact pageant coordinator Barbara Aspland-Wolf, or speak with Aoife.
