Meet Kathy and Charlie Hulin

I am pleased to bring you FUSF’s brand-new members: Kathy and Charlie Hulin. They both signed the Membership Book on November 20, after having made their first appearance only on October 9! They are the definition of jumping in with both feet!

Kathy and Charlie moved from Glastonbury, Connecticut to Franklin very recently. In fact, they had only been in Franklin less than two weeks and still shoulder-deep in moving boxes when they walked through our doors. They chose to settle in Franklin because it is equi-distant between Boston and Providence where their children and grandchildren live. What’s more, the Hulins chose their house on Miller Street because of its close proximity to their gym and FUSF!! ¬†They have admitted that they found FUSF through a Google search, then set their sights on finding a home that would be close to the two places where they hoped to spend much of their time.

Now retired, Kathy was a high school English teacher for many years. Charlie is a retired attorney, but he still works as a consultant on projects related to his former job as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Connecticut, specializing in health care advocacy. These days, they both enjoy singing, gardening, doing projects in and around their home (especially painting all those walls and ceilings in their new house, says master painter Kathy!), walking their goldendoodle in the woods near their house, and of course, spending their time with their children and grands, which is a heck of a lot easier from Franklin than it was from Connecticut! They have been so pleased that the whole clan is regularly gathering at their place.

Kathy and Charlie felt so comfortable and welcomed at FUSF that they quickly joined the FUSF Choir and then were inspired to join the Franklin Interfaith Choir. They are interested in joining one of the adult faith development classes in the near future. What do they like most so far about FUSF? “Becoming a part of a loving community and congregation.” Please join me in welcoming Kathy and Charlie Hulin!
