Learn About OWL June 5

What: Learn about OWL

When: Sunday June 5th, 9:15-9:45

Where: Cook Room (big classroom with couches)

The 2016-17 RE year will include both the Our Whole Lives classes for grades 7-8 (full year), and  grades 5-6 (half-year). I encourage all perspective families (parents and students) to drop by the Cook Room before church on June 5th to learn more about these classes and meet the teachers.

Both classes will begin with a full orientation session in the Fall. This is a preliminary info session to let you know the expected schedule, and an overview of class topics and values. Students may naturally feel some trepidation about beginning and OWL class, and this is a chance to ease some of that anxiety as well.

We are very fortunate to be able to offer two separate levels of OWL in order to provide adolescents and their parents with fact-based, developmentally appropriate information to help navigate the many pressures and anxieties of growing into adulthood. OWL classes are founded in our UU principles of worth, dignity and justice, and affirm that our human bodies are normal, diverse, and beautiful.

If you are not able to attend but are interested in the classes, please contact me directly.

Yours in loving support,
