CONNECTING WITH THE WIDER WORLD
As Unitarian Universalists, we try to reach out and connect with the wider world in many different ways. One such opportunity comes to us each November as we pass out and collect those cute little cardboard boxes from the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC). These boxes represent a “Guest at Your Table” and families often bring them home and plop them right in the middle of the kitchen table so that, as you eat a meal together, you can talk as a family about children who live nearby in Massachusetts or faraway, across the world, who may not always have the food they need to eat, the clothes to wear, or a house to shelter them.
We will pass out the Guest at Your Table boxes on Sunday, November 20 during worship on Sunday and ask you to return them by Sunday, Dec 18.
And thank you! The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee is the group who puts our UU values into practice around the world as they help people in need, respond to disasters such as the Haiti hurricane relief, or advocate for clean water for people who need it.
