FUSF Donates to Food Pantry

Food Pantry News
Each year, FUSF, like other houses of worship in Franklin, contributes to the Franklin Food Pantry’s Thanksgiving offering. This year we have been asked for boxes of pie crust mix. We’ve committed to 200 of them-so when you next go to the grocery store, would you grab a couple? There is a container in FUSF’s foyer for donations.

The food pantry hopes to receive goods from all houses of worship by November 3rd.

Believe it or not, more than 3,000 Franklin residents (that’s more than 9 percent) are struggling with food insecurity. If you’re shopping and you see an excellent two-for-one deal, consider saving the second item for a donation. Feminine hygiene products and toilet paper can’t be paid for with food stamps, so they are always welcome. The food pantry is also looking for canned sloppy joe and beef stew, coffee, white tuna, and all kinds of jams and jellies. The Food Pantry box in FUSF’s foyer is taken to the Pantry and emptied regularly, so try to keep it in mind! Thanks-Sue Bencuya, FUSF liaison.
