Our Board: Planning, Governance and Oversight
The First Universalist Society of Franklin is an eclectic spiritual community, relying on our volunteer members to keep the society healthy and vibrant.
Oversight and Planning Roles:
The FUSF Board of Trustees, elected by the congregation, provides governance and oversight. They develop the vision and long- and short-term strategies of FUSF and set policies and procedures. The Board works with the Minister, a small paid staff, and the volunteer FUSF teams to ensure the congregation continues to grow and thrive.
Our Interim Minister Rev. Jenny Rankin supervises the Director of Religious Education (DRE) Aoife Barrington-Haber and staff. Two FUSF teams, the Stewardship Team and the Asset Team, report directly to the FUSF board.
At FUSF’s annual meeting in June, the entire FUSF congregation meets to approve its budget, and elect officers to the Board of Trustees and Nominating Committee. At this time, the congregation acts on any other business on the agenda.
