*The Congregational Relations Committee, in coordination with the Board of Trustees, will sponsor a Town Hall after today’s worship service to update the congregation on the formation of the Search Committee in the new minister process. At 11:30 in the sanctuary, after Souper Sunday, Rebecca Kennedy, a trustee of the board, will provide a brief overview of the process and will give an update on the progress made so far. In addition, there will be question and answer session following the update. Hope to see you there!
*Mother’s Day Walk for Peace A team from FUSF is walking on May 14 – so far we have five on our team – please consider joining us! Yes, it’s a long walk – 6.8 miles – but for a very important cause – peace & justice. Our team’s goal is $1000. For the next few weeks a container will be available on the side table for checks (Make our to “Mother’ Day Walk for Peace”and cash donations. If you are tech savvy you can go to the website (in this month’s newsletter) and go directly to our FUSF team page to make sure your donation is credited to us. See Rev. On Sunday, April 23 at 11:30 am a representative of the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute will be speaking at FUSF. Come and learn about this remarkable organization and the important work they are doing in the areas of healing, teaching and learning with families and communities impacted by murder, trauma, grief and loss.
*On Sat. April 15th, FUSF will have a Spaghetti Dinner complete with Bo’s meatballs, Rebecca’s home made sauce, and some dark roast coffee with biscotti to finish. Tickets are a contribution of $10, $25 family and $5 kids. Of course, since this is a fundraiser, you can always add more if you want!And this is an event where you donate what you can. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself short of cash, no fear. Just pick up your tickets, no questions asked. Tickets will be on sale this Sunday at the Coffee Table after service.
*Your FUSF Board of Trustees is meeting Tue, Apr 11th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Cook Room. Board meetings are open and any interested member or friend of our congregation is invited and encouraged to attend
*2nd Annual Empty Bowls Dinner, a simple meal of soup and bread, will take place Tue, May 2, 6-8 p.m. in the Franklin High School cafeteria. This fundraiser will benefit the Franklin Food Pantry. Cost: Adults – $20, children & students – $10. See the poster on the bulletin board in the entryway.
*Next Sunday, Jenny & Aoife will lead our service “When Easter Comes Into Our Lives.” We welcome all ages for our celebration of hope and new life in this multi-generational worship service. We’ll have festive brass music by some of our talented young musicians., flowers to take home, a homily by Jenny, a reflection by Aoife. Bring your friends and family, fill the sanctuary with your presence, your voices, your spirit as we celebrate the perennial return of light and hope.
