President’s Message

FUSF PresidentBy Lea MacNider

As I write this, we have just celebrated Christmas and are getting ready to celebrate the coming of a new year. 2016 is going to be a year of change, change so far unfamiliar to FUSF, as we prepare to say goodbye to Carol and enter into a two year transition period with a new minister.

Every relationship we have been part of, whether it is with our minister, family member, or a place, becomes woven into who we are. When we part, we’re left not only with memories, but also with a meaningful change in ourselves, a beautiful and lasting gift. Saying goodbye won’t be easy, yet we will meet the parting with love, celebration and much gratitude.

A congregational workshop will be held in February-March and will be facilitated by a member of the UUA transition team. We will explore and consider our history, strengths and ways we want to move forward with our new minister. We will learn more about the search process and begin to think about our next steps. More information will come as details are finalized. I hope everyone will participate in this important meeting.

Peace and Love as we travel this journey together,
